The CMS Student Council is collecting canned food donations for Vaughn-Trent Community Services. The food will be collected starting on Monday, January 27th until Friday, February 7th. Students should drop off all donations in their Advisory classroom. The Student Council will be tracking the amount of donations in each Advisory and the class with the most donations in each grade level wins a doughnut party! The following items are needed: cans of soup, cans of chili, cans of Chef Boyardee style foods, and boxes of crackers to go with the soup. January is School Board Recognition Month, a great opportunity to say thank you to the USD 204 Board of Education who are committed to the success of every student in our community. Our board of education includes Jennifer McConico (President), Angie Thomas (Vice President), Kim Beets, Dave Pierce, Ashley Razak, Chris Russell, and Jeff Tinberg. These seven community leaders volunteer hundreds of hours attending meetings, reading reports and discussing plans and programs to support educational achievement. Thank you BOE!
The art club is looking for donations of empty 16 or 20 oz disposable water bottles for their Chihuly Water Bottle Sculpture. You can drop off your donations in the CMS front office.

Out of an abundance of caution, there will be no school tomorrow, January 8th. Dylan Taylor, a 2020 graduate of Bonner Springs High School, has turned his passion for shoes into a successful business. He buys and sells sneakers to people and businesses across the U.S., creating a thriving reselling venture. But for Dylan, it’s not just about making money—it’s about giving back to the community that helped him along the way.
Dylan recently donated shoes to staff at Clark Middle School (CMS) as a thank-you for all the support they gave him during his school years.
His generosity extends beyond just school staff. Dylan has also donated shoes to students during the school supply drive, ensuring local kids have what they need. For him, the business is a way to help others while doing something he loves. Thank you Dylan!

📚✨ Over the past month, Clark Middle School students have been part of the "Reading Buddies" program, meeting twice a week to practice reading fluency and expression. The program wrapped up with a heartwarming trip to McDaniel Preschool, where they shared their love of books and stories with our youngest learners.
