Flaggers will be present to direct traffic with stop/slow paddles. Drivers may be asked to stop and wait for oncoming traffic to clear before proceeding. Expect delays during peak travel times; school buses may also experience delays.

Please allow extra time if traveling to or from Clark Middle School or Bonner Springs High School.

Intro LPSSC Class completed a CERT Training (Community Emergency Response Team). Students learned the minimum safety precautions, including: Safety equipment, Utility control, Buddy system, Backup teams, Identify locations of hazardous materials in the community and the home, and reduce the risk from hazardous materials in the home. They demonstrated how to assess and carry an injured person.

If your student participates in after school activities, for the safety of all students, we ask that parents use the upper parking lot when picking up their child, rather than waiting along the street in front of CMS. This applies to dismissal from tutoring, activities, practices, and other after-school events. Using the designated lot helps keep traffic flowing smoothly and ensures students are not walking through high-traffic areas. We appreciate your support in keeping our dismissal process safe and organized for everyone.

Students selected their top elective preferences last Spring, and we worked hard to place them in classes they chose. While they may not have received all their top four choices, every elective was one they selected in Skyward. To keep schedules running smoothly, we won't be able to make changes once school begins. Come tour the school, meet your teachers, find your locker, and get to know your classmates before the first day of school!

Normal bus routes will not be running on August 12th, however if your student typically rides the bus to school and needs transportation that day you will need to contact Deb Elmer, Transportation Director, 913-441-2493 by Friday, August 8th. *If you do not contact transportation, then your student will not be picked up that day.

Parents and guardians are welcome to come — we’ll have info sessions just for you, too! To ensure the focus remains on our 6th graders, we kindly ask that siblings, friends, and extended family members not attend Orientation.

🎭🌟 Big applause for Clark Middle School student Maia Moses! 🌟🎭 Maia was honored on stage at Starlight Theatre as one of only five recipients of the 2025 Vincent Legacy Scholarship—and the first-ever from USD 204! 👏🎉 This prestigious scholarship supports BIPOC youth in pursuing professional training in the performing arts. In its 20-year history, only 69 students across the KC Metro have received this honor—and now Maia is one of them! 🎶🎬 She was recognized at a special dinner, during an awards presentation, and in front of the entire Starlight crowd. A huge congratulations goes out to our Battle of the Books teams. Eleven students, 14 novels, over 3,200 pages read in less than 5 short months! They competed with teams from all over Kansas and took 4th place in state! Congratulations to all of our readers - Briana Cisneros-Ortiz, Gabe Creed, Lily Daniels, Summer Dufresne, Grecia Galvan, Cooper Lawson, Jenna Martin, Brandon Mullen, Angelina Silva, Charlotte Taylor, and Valeria Villa for a great competition.
