Clark Middle School has officially launched clay in the pottery room!
Yesterday, students in Mrs. Letzig's Pottery class learned how to prepare their clay by wedging to revoke air bubbles and to get a consistent moisture content throughout their clay, and today built on that skill!
Seven students were able to successfully mold their first pinch pot, and the rest of the class will attempt their pinch pot tomorrow!

CMS Braves give back to our community. During Academic Focus, Clark Middle School students have the opportunity to practice their fluency, cadence, and voice prior to visiting preschool students at McDanield Early Learning Center. While at the preschool, we get young readers excited about books by entertaining them with choices made during class. Book Buddies continue to work on i-Ready skills as well as vocabulary - all while perfecting our books to read to the littles. CMS students will sign up in their Google Classrooms if they have an interest in participating, and students will be selected based on their lunch availability each month beginning in October.

Meet Remi and LuLu! Our school companion dogs!
Remi and LuLu are hypoallergenic Goldendoodles and they have quickly become some of the most pawsome members of our CMS family!
These furry friends work alongside our counselors and social workers, helping provide comfort, support, and a little extra encouragement when students need it. You may also spot them greeting students in the halls, visiting classrooms, or making their rounds around the building.
A few fun facts about our four-legged friends:
Goldendoodles are known for being friendly, social, and eager to learn.
Remi and LuLu are siblings from the same litter!
They love spending time with people and being part of the CMS community.
Dogs can be great companions for helping people feel calm, supported, and connected.
Their favorite part of the school day just might be saying hello to students!
They LOVE food! Dog treats are definitely one of the fastest ways to get Remi and LuLu's attention. 🐾
We are so lucky to have Remi and LuLu bringing extra smiles, comfort, and puppy energy to CMS! Be sure to say hello when you see them around the building!

Who knew something as simple as blowing bubbles could be a mini science lesson? Mrs. VanCleave's students explored surface tension, air pressure, light, chemistry, and geometry all through bubbles!
From the way bubbles form to the colorful reflections we see, there is a LOT of science happening inside those little spheres. Learning science can be hands-on, fun, and sometimes even a little bubbly!

REMINDER: If your 7th–12th grade student plans to participate in sports, please submit their completed sports physical by 3:00 PM on August 14, 2026. Physicals submitted after this deadline may not be processed in time for the student to be cleared for practice on August 17, 2026.

They met their teachers, checked out their classrooms, got to know their new classmates, learned the ins and outs of a typical school day, practiced those locker skills, and got familiar with the routines.
Basically, they got the full middle school starter pack.
From “Wait…where am I supposed to go?” to “Okay, I got this,” our newest students are already getting the hang of it.
