Parents! As you may have heard, our athletic gate entrance fees have increased to $7. As a way to accommodate our parents that attend multiple athletic events throughout the year, we are now offering an individual parent pass for $100 each for the entire 2024-2025 school year. (See attached flyer for more information)
Due to the excessive heat index we will be holding practices inside or delayed. The following areas will be utilized for High School sports.

Football will be delayed until 7pm.

Don't 'sleep' on this charming retelling of "The Princess and the Pea". As the story goes, the Prince can only become king after taking a bride — a ruling that his mother, is not-so-secretly using to stay in power. After successfully vetoing all the princesses in the land through a series of rigged trials (like asking one princess to do long division even though it hasn’t been invented yet), her reign looks secured until a brave knight returns to the castle with a “strangely energetic swamp girl,” who is eager to prove herself worthy of the princes’ affections. If your student is interested in becoming a member of the freshmen Student Council for the 2024 - 2025 school year, please see the attached application form. A hard copy can be found in the high school front office or outside of room 326 in B-TEC.

We welcomed all staff back this week with the annual USD 204 Convocation event! We heard from our friends at the Chamber of Commerce, the Bonner Springs/Edwardsville Education Foundation distributed Walmart gift cards to all teachers, counselors, and nurses, and First State Bank & Trust presented the district with earnings from the School Spirit Debit Card Program! The event wrapped up with celebrations, honoring our longest-serving staff and welcoming the new faces to our USD 204 family. Finally, Superintendent Rick Moulin shared his vision for the year ahead, and staff shared their own excitement to be entering a new BRAVE era!
Freshman Orientation will be this Wednesday, August 14th from 7:45-11:30am. We are excited to welcome our 9th grade students to the building prior to the start of school on Friday. Freshman students will be able to meet their teachers, tour the school, browse an activity fair, and so much more! A letter was sent out on Skyward August 7th including all of the details of this event.

We're looking forward to welcoming BRAVE families to our enrollment fair next week! All NEW students, preschool-12th grade, will enroll during this time. Returning families that need support, internet access, or have questions, are also encouraged to stop in.
In addition to our enrollment stations, we will have...
✏️School supplies for those in need - courtesy of our incredible community partners (while supplies last!).
🍎Food service staff will be available to accept applications for free/reduced meals.
🚌Transportation staff will be available to sign students up for bus routes.
📱District staff will be available to answer questions about the new USD 204 app and the Rooms platform.
🏀Staff from our 6-12th grade athletics department will be available for team sign-ups, collecting physicals/paperwork, and answering questions.
💙Local community organizations will be in attendance sharing resources and helping families and students prepare for the new school year.
The event will take place Tuesday, August 6th from 1 - 8 PM and Wednesday, August 7th from 8 AM - 12 PM at Bonner Springs High School (100 McDanield St, Bonner Springs, KS 66012).
